Job Requirements
What You'll Do:
People Programs & Policy: Support the development and administration of HR policies and programs tailored to a fast-scaling tech environment. Coach employees and managers on HR policies and employee engagement.
Employee Experience & Culture: Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day HR inquiries. Foster a transparent and inclusive workplace culture, contributing to employee engagement and recognition programs.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Own the full recruitment cycle, from job posting and candidate sourcing to interviews, offer negotiations, and onboarding. Partner with hiring managers to ensure the recruitment process is efficient and aligns with company goals. Provide an exceptional onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring early engagement and clarity on role expectations.
Performance & Development: Assist in administering performance reviews, goal setting, and feedback cycles. Track employee development and support learning opportunities.
HR Operations & Compliance: Ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Workday). Maintain compliance with employment legislation and internal procedures.
Reporting & Insights: Generate HR reports and metrics, offering insights to guide workforce planning, retention strategies, and employee satisfaction.
What You'll Bring:
Experience: 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a tech or high-growth company, where you've demonstrated the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments.
HR Expertise: A strong working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR best practices, and HRIS/ATS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Workable).
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity and building relationships across teams.
Multi-tasking Ability: Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to address employee-related challenges effectively and efficiently.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Certifications: CPHR designation or working towards certification is considered an asset.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace and experience using HRIS and ATS systems (BambooHR, Workday).
Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in HR processes, with a strong focus on compliance.
Professional Discretion: Ability to handle sensitive HR matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion.
Nice to Have:
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth tech company.
Familiarity with advanced HR software tools and platforms beyond HRIS/ATS, such as performance management or learning management systems.
Ability to design and implement employee engagement or recognition programs that drive culture and performance.
Exposure to project management or HR initiatives related to company-wide change or growth strategies.
Comfort with providing support for employee wellness initiatives or diversity and inclusion programs.
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing HR-related challenges before they escalate.
