Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, British Columbia, is seeking a District HR Advisor to bring our people-development philosophy to life by building talent and leadership across our BC region.

You will lead HRPD programs, develop recruitment plans, coach managers, and collaborate in a highly matrixed organization to support exceptional business performance. A postsecondary HR degree and 5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary diploma or degree in human resources or a related discipline preferred.
• Working towards an HR designation preferred.
• 5 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.
• Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and handle confidential information.
• Ability to research, analyze information and data, and make recommendations.
• Able to work independently or in a team in a highly matrixed organization.
• Able to mentor and coach entry-level human resources professionals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with negotiation and influence.
• Strong networking skills to develop and maintain HR networks.
• Demonstrated critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Leads and advises on HRPD programs, policy, practices, and compliance for assigned client groups.
• Develops and executes a recruitment plan with appropriate sourcing strategies.
• Participates in district HRPD planning and leads district-level projects initiatives as assigned.
• Provides guidance, coaches, and trains on all aspects of career management.
• Guides and coaches supervisors on employee relations issues, compensation, recruitment, performance improvement activities, workforce planning and training programs.
• Assists with local market research and analysis for annual compensation review and owns the calibration of salary/bonus review process for client groups.
• Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders within the district.
• Oversees the student program strategy and maintaining strategic relationships with academic institutions.
