Job summary

Rise Air is seeking a Human Resources Co-op Student in Saskatoon for a 12-month temporary role. You will assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee data management, and HRIS projects while gaining exposure to organizational development and HR automation tools.

You will work with the HR team to enhance employee experience, participate in wellness and inclusion initiatives, and support internal communications and reporting. This position is ideal for students aiming to grow in HR operations.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program in HR/Management/Business Administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong desire to learn with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Knowledge of HR principles or HRIS is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and onboarding support across the full lifecycle.
  • Represent Rise Air at career events to build employer brand.
  • Assist with offer preparation and new hire documentation.
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs for a positive employee experience.

Job description

Employment Type: Temporary (Co-op) - 12 months

Under the guidance of the Human Resources Business Partner and other members of the HR team, the HR Co-op Student supports the Human Resources team in delivering a variety of HR services and projects, gaining hands‑on experience across HR operations, HRIS implementation, and organizational development functions.

What you’ll do

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Participate in the full recruitment lifecycle, from posting opportunities and screening candidates to scheduling interviews and supporting hiring decisions.
  • Represent the company at career fairs and recruitment events, helping build our employer brand and engage with prospective talent.
  • Assist with offer preparation and new hire documentation to gain exposure to hiring processes and employment administration.
  • Support onboarding and orientation programs that help create positive employee experiences from day one.

Organizational Development

  • Contribute to employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Help gather and analyze employee feedback to support continuous improvement and a positive workplace culture.
  • Participate in the development of HR communications and programs that enhance the employee experience.
  • Conduct research on HR trends, emerging practices, and workforce initiatives.

Human Resources Administration

  • Assist with employee data management, HR compliance activities, and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Develop practical knowledge of HR records management, confidentiality requirements, and employment‑related documentation.
  • Develop analytical skills by supporting HR reporting, metrics tracking, and data‑driven decision‑making.

HR Technology & Innovation

  • Gain hands‑on experience supporting the implementation and optimization of our Rippling Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
  • Assist with system testing, process documentation, user guides, training materials, and end‑user support.
  • Support the implementation of automation tools like Microsoft Power Automate and Rippling workflows.
  • Contribute to the internal knowledgebase by preparing job aids and documenting procedures.
  • Participate in initiatives that improve HR service delivery and employee experience.
What you’ll bring
  • Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary institution majoring in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong desire to learn, with a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, employment legislation, or HR systems is an asset.
