Job summary

Rise Air, Saskatchewan's largest full-service airline operations and proudly 100% Indigenous owned, seeks a Ground Service Equipment Technician. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair ground support equipment across Saskatchewan bases, ensuring reliability and safety.

A valid driver’s license and 5+ years of maintenance experience are required. Competitive hourly full-time role with strong benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance and repair experience with troubleshooting.
  • Valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Mechanic trades certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent.
  • Certifications in diesel engine tune-up, automotive inspection, air conditioning and refrigeration, WHMIS, or TDG are assets.
  • Strong self-leadership and a hands-on, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs using diagnostic tools to maximize reliability.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and replace components on ground support equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance stores to ensure material availability.
  • Coordinate external repair work with service providers.
  • Fabricate and modify ground support equipment using shop tools.
  • Maintain facilities and tooling to safety and quality standards.
  • Travel regularly to company bases to inspect and service equipment.

Under the direction of the general manager, the Ground Service Equipment Technician supports the maintenance and ground services departments and is responsible for utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment, and materials to maintain and repair ground service equipment owned by Snowbird Aviation Services.

What you'll do

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs using diagnostic tools and equipment to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and replace components on ground support equipment to maintain operational readiness.
  • Coordinate with maintenance stores to ensure timely availability of required materials and parts.
  • Coordinate external repair work with service providers to ensure quality, cost, and schedule expectations are met.
  • Fabricate and modify ground support equipment using shop tools and equipment to meet operational requirements.
  • Maintain ground equipment facilities and tooling using established safety and quality standards to ensure a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Travel regularly to company bases to inspect, service, and repair equipment to support safe and efficient operations across Saskatchewan.

What you'll bring

  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive maintenance and repair experience, with proven mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid Automotive Service Technician, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Mechanic trades certification.
  • Certifications in diesel engine tune-up, automotive inspection, air conditioning and refrigeration, WHMIS, or Transportation of Dangerous Goods will be considered an asset.
  • Strong self-leadership skills and a hands‑on, self‑sufficient and demonstrated positive, can‑do attitude.

What you'll get

The expected compensation range for this role is $36.46 to $42.45 per hour. Placement within the range will be based on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and internal equity considerations.
