Administrative Assistant Contract (6 months)

Summary Of Position

The HR Administrative Assistant performs a complete range of administrative support functions for the People and Culture Department. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of HR Functions including recruitment, onboarding, records management and employee support. This is an entry level Human Resources position providing experience for the incumbent to develop their Human Resources skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and committed to delivering excellent service.

Summary Of Work Performed

  • Provide administrative support for recruitment processes, including scheduling interviews, and preparing documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing welcome packages, coordinating orientation sessions and new hire badges.
  • Maintain and update employee records in Dayforce and physical files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, or direct them to the appropriate contact.
  • Support the coordination of training sessions, workshops, and employee engagement activities.
  • Prepare HR-related reports, letters, and documentation as required.
  • Run monthly seniority reports.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment legislation.
  • Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Recognition/Retirement coordination according to Human Resources Policy
  • Other assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Community College diploma with Human Resources courses or the equivalency in experience and knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality

Hours: 35 Hours per Week

Remuneration: $31.45 - $36.79 per hour ($57,235.83 - $66,960.71 per year)

Effective Start Date: July 4, 2025
