Northland Properties in Ottawa is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Room Attendant to join our hotels. You will clean rooms to standards, maintain knowledge of cleaning products, and respond to guest and staff inquiries with courtesy. No prior education required; training provided.

Qualifications

• No education or experience required; we will train one-on-one.
• Ability to follow instruction
• Good communication skills are an asset
• WHMIS is an asset
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Professional appearance and manners

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms according to Sandman Hotels standards
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products and the correct handling procedures
• Responds to guests and staff inquiries, requests and complaints promptly and courteously
• Ensures lost property items left in guest rooms are recorded and handed in to Supervisor/Manager
• Reports maintenance and safety hazards to minimize risk
• Takes personal responsibility for equipment and ensures it is operated securely
• Reports any unusual or suspicious persons/activities to the manager
• Check under bed, drawers, and closet for left behind articles or trash
• Clean coffee pots and restock amenities
• Arrange furniture after guest use
• Ensure security and privacy of guest rooms
• Perform laundry tasks including collection, sorting, and transport
• Remove laundry and fold promptly
• Stock linen supply room with clean linens
• Laundering bed linens, blankets, towels, and restaurant linens
• Small mending repairs as needed
• Perform Houseperson duties as required
