Job summary

The Fleet Care Home in Dartmouth, Devon, is hiring a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents, including laundry support and label management.

You will clean bedrooms, bathrooms and shared areas to high hygiene standards, follow infection control procedures, and work weekends as required. DBS, pension and uniform provided; prior experience welcomed but not essential.

Our care home, nestled in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional Residential, Nursing, Dementia, and Respite care for up to 79 residents, offering a serene and supportive environment where quality care meets coastal charm.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 24 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.

The successful candidate will be requied to work weekends.
