Job summary

Kindera Living is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the home while actively involving residents in daily living activities. The role reports to the Environmental Services Manager and emphasizes privacy, dignity, and a warm, homely setting.

Starting wage is CAD 23.66/hour. This is an existing vacancy with responsibilities including cleaning, stocking supplies, and assisting with daily resident activities, while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Some understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work from the heart and make others smile.
• Ability to make the most of the time you have to provide positive social interactions.
• Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, TB test within 6 months, and three supervisory references.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignment, assembles materials and supplies, loads service cart and transports to work area.
• Performs cleaning tasks using specified agents and routines: vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting floors, cleaning walls and windows.
• Dusting and cleaning furniture, shelves, and woodwork; emptying waste baskets and rearranging furniture.
• Ensures privacy of residents during duties and promotes confidentiality in a warm setting.
• Prepares rooms for new occupants following prescribed procedures.
• Notifies Environmental Services Manager when supplies are low or equipment malfunctions.

The Housekeeping Aide reports to the Environmental Services Manager and is expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the home by cleaning and sanitizing rooms and furnishings in assigned work areas following established policies and procedures. A major part of your role as a housekeeper will be to actively involve residents in everyday domestic living, creating meaningful occupation & activities.

Wage Rate:

The starting wage rate is $23.66/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Receives assignment, assembles required materials and supplies, loads service cart and transports to work area.
• Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents and following specific procedures, work patterns and routines, performs tasks such as: vacuuming, sweeping, dry/wet mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing/disinfection floors, spot cleaning walls, windows and doors between washing, dusting, washing, sanitizing/disinfecting furniture, shelves, woodwork, etc., emptying waste baskets and rearranging furniture, removing waste, daily cleaning and disinfecting daily all bathroom fixtures and replenishing supplies, cleaning floors, fixtures and furnishings in utility rooms, kitchen closets, etc.
• Ensures privacy of residents during performance of duties.
• Respects privacy, dignity and promotes confidentiality within a warm homely setting.
• Prepares room for new occupant following prescribed procedures.
• Notifies ESM when supplies are low or equipment is malfunctioning.
• Returns unused supplies and cleans and stores equipment.
• Identifies potential liability issues and takes action to minimize risk
• Any and all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:

• Some understanding of chemicals and equipment used in cleaning
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions
• Ability to work from the heart and make others smile
• Ability to make the most of the time you have to provide positive social interactions
• Must have a clear vulnerable sector screen, no older than 6 months, TB test results less than 6 months old, must be able to provide three supervisory reference
