Overview

Position Overview: Under the direction of the Manager - Environmental Services, the Housekeeping Aide maintains assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly manner to ensure the highest degree of cleanliness. The incumbent also performs routine housekeeping tasks in all areas of the facility with the primary duties being general cleaning. The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Aperçu Du Poste: Sous la direction du Gestionnaire - Services environnementaux, l’Aide-ménager veille à la propreté, à l'hygiène, à la sécurité et à l'ordre des locaux qui lui sont confiés, afin d'assurer le plus haut degré de propreté. Le ou la titulaire du poste effectue également des tâches ménagères de routine dans tous les locaux de l'établissement, les tâches principales étant le nettoyage général. Le ou la titulaire du poste bénéficie d’un niveau d’initiative approprié et fait preuve d’un jugement indépendant pour déterminer les priorités de travail, les méthodes de travail à utiliser et les mesures à adopter pour traiter les questions inhabituelles. Les fonctions du poste sont exercées d’une manière conforme à la vision, à la mission, aux valeurs et aux politiques de Southern Health-Santé Sud.

  • Flexibility to adapt techniques and procedures; ability to work independently and with others.
  • Basic computer skills; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Problem solving within the responsibilities of the position; respect for confidentiality.
  • Ability to adapt to a culturally diverse population and to work in a changing environment.
  • Good work and attendance record.
Education
  • Minimum Grade 10 education (Manitoba standard) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical & Other Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to meet physical and mental demands of the job.
  • No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends; may travel to other regional facilities as required.
