Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a friendly Housekeeping Aide in Scarborough, ON. This casual vacancy offers daytime shifts (7am–3pm) and an hourly wage of $22.58–$23.37.

You will clean, sanitize, and sanitize residents' environments, wash dishes, and handle linens to keep spaces safe and comfortable for our residents. Reports to the Environmental Service Manager; responsibilities include stock handling, waste removal, and coordinating with maintenance if issues arise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize to ensure a safe environment; clean bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans.
• Wipe and dust surfaces; clean mirrors.
• Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture and drapes.
• Remove and replace linens, bedspreads and blankets.
• Stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels; fold laundry.

Reports to: Environmental Service Manager

The Housekeeping Aide provides support to the residence by, cleaning and sanitizing to ensure that our Residents are living in the best environment possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean - Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans. Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors. Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Remove and replace linens, bedspreads, and blankets.
• Stock - Wash and stock all towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms. Fold laundry and put away as needed.
• Other - Pick up and empty trash containers. Load washer and dryer as needed. If applicable, notify maintenance if something is not working correctly.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and reach, bend, lift and pull
• Passion for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care setting

Additional Requirements include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
