We are looking for a professional Housekeeper able to attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation while simultaneously ensuring we adhere to quality care standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and adhere to infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices for a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, emptying garbage, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Adhere to IPAC and Bayshore procedures to perform admission room, discharge, and isolation and/or outbreak client room and unit cleaning.
- Follow Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
- Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
- Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, or disturbances.
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests professionally and patiently.
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
- Strictly adhere to health and safety rules and be aware of company-related practices.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's quality standards.
Management System
- Participate in proactive health & safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible for notifying immediate supervisor of any health & safety risks or concerns.
- Responsible for completing accident reports for all injuries within 24 hours of the incident.
- Actively participate in and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing only with appropriate personnel.
- Complete other tasks as requested.
Job Qualifications
Key Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school diploma preferred and Home Support Programs as appropriate.
- Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high performance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Customer-oriented and friendly demeanor.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations professionally.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and lift up to 23 kilograms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
- Understanding and implementation of infection prevention practices.
Experience
At least one year of recent experience in a similar position or relevant life experience with similar duties.
