Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a professional Housekeeper to maintain clean and safe environments across our facilities. The role emphasizes infection prevention and control, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Casual position with pay rate from $21.18 to $21.99 per hour, located in North York area of Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate will uphold Bayshore quality standards and contribute to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma preferred.
• Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain performance.
• Good communication in English or French.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning of facilities including sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing.
• Adhere to IPAC/cleaning procedures for admissions, discharges and isolation rooms.
• Follow Bayshore Policies and ensure rooms meet standards.
• Inspect all rooms and report damages or deficits to supervisors.
• Maintain inventory of consumables and restock as needed.
• Adhere to health and safety rules and participate in quality initiatives.
• Protect confidentiality of client and corporate information.

The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation while simultaneously ensuring we adhere to quality care standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform and adhere to infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices for a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing, vacuuming, empty garbage, clean bathrooms, complete cleaning after discharge • Adhere to IPAC and Bayshore procedures to perform admission room, discharge, and isolation and/or outbreak client room and unit cleaning • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures. • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits, and disturbances • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience • Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System • Participates in proactive Health& Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health& Safety risks or concerns • Responsible for completing Accident Reports for all direct reports who injure themselves on the job, within 24 hours of the incident • Actively participates in and demonstrates support for continuous quality improvement initiatives • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel • Complete other tasks as requested. Qualifications : Key Qualifications: • Completion of secondary school diploma preferred and Home Support Programs as appropriate. • Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Customer-oriented and friendly • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective consistent format • Prioritization skills of multiple functions and tasks, and time management skills • Working quickly without compromising quality • Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely • Ability to freely lift 23 kilograms • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in either English or French • Understands and implements infection prevention practices. Experience At least one year of recent experience in a similar position or life experience in which similar duties were completed. | | |
