Job summary

GardaWorld is seeking a Hotel Security Guard in Vancouver, BC. This part-time role emphasizes welcoming guests while maintaining calm, confident, and professional security presence on the property.

You’ll combine strong situational awareness with customer service in a fast-paced hospitality setting, ensuring safety and a positive guest experience. Uniforms are provided, and GardaWorld Academy supports continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be authorized to work in Canada.
• Hold a valid BC security license (where required).
• AST Certificate is required.
• First aid certification is an asset.
• Minimum 6 months of security experience.
• Strong report writing and technology skills.
• Physically able to stand, patrol and walk for extended periods.
• Alert, detail-oriented with good situational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Customer service duties like welcome, check identification, and guide visitors.
• Manage access control.
• Conduct foot patrols to identify potential risks.
• Inspect security equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams.
• Write incident reports and communicate security concerns.
• Monitor the hotel entrance and maintain a visible security presence.
• Identify and remove unauthorized or disruptive individuals in a professional manner.
• Use handcuffs only as a last resort when escorting individuals off-site.
• Ensure continuous lobby coverage.
• Limit cellphone use to required hourly check-ins; headphones/earbuds not permitted.

Qualifications for Hotel Security Guard

• Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate - Required
• First aid certification - an asset
• Minimum 6 months of security experience
• Strong report writing and technology skills
• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Physically able to stand, patrol and walk for extended periods
• Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
