Job summary

Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, BC is seeking a maintenance assistant to perform routine upkeep in a hotel setting. The role requires 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience and a secondary school graduation certificate.

WHMIS certification is expected, and duties include safety checks, minor repairs, and supervising others. The position is strictly on-site in a hotel, motel or resort environment with benefits including health and dental plans, a parking option, and wellness programs.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of maintenance or related experience.
• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• WHMIS certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings.
• Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
• Perform safety and security checks.
• Supervise other workers.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies.
• Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
• Make minor repairs to furniture.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
