Job summary

Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in Thunder Bay is seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team, respond quickly to requests, and oversee preventative maintenance and repairs across the property. The ideal candidate will have a trades background, strong communication skills, and a proactive, guest-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Trade certification or equivalent experience in building maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to lead and inspire a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize and comply with hotel mission and standards during maintenance work.
• Plan daily activities of the Maintenance Department in coordination with the Maintenance Manager.
• Assign tasks and supervise maintenance staff.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager with maintenance tasks, work orders, and projects.
• Maintain and ensure safety of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
• Record-keeping for plant/equipment and service history.
• Train staff on maintenance procedures and safety.
