Job summary

Bloom Limited Partnership is seeking a Hospitality Worker for AgeCare in Lumby, BC. You will perform routine cleaning across resident suites, public areas, and offices to maintain a comfortable, welcoming environment.

Hours are 08:00–16:00 (Casual), with an Internal Closing Date of Nov 03, 2026 and a Start Date around Nov 13, 2026. Fluency in English and previous healthcare experience are valued assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or retirement setting is preferred.
• Experience with industrial vacuum, scrubber, floor polisher and other related equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties: dusting, vacuuming, mopping and disinfecting resident suites, restrooms, lounges and offices.
• Clean windows, walls and fixtures as per checklist.
• Remove trash and ensure proper disposal.
• Operate housekeeping equipment as required.
• Report maintenance or safety issues to Hospitality Manager.

The Opportunity

The Hospitality Worker reporting to the Hospitality Manager is primarily responsible for assigned cleaning duties in accordance with established work schedules, policies, and procedures. The Hospitality Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to the Hospitality Manager.

What Is In It For You

• Completes routine cleaning duties as assigned including, but not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting of resident suites, restrooms, showers, nursing stations, lounges, offices, and other areas as assigned.


• Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture, cabinets, lamps/light fixtures, wall vents, handrails, baseboards, blinds etc. in resident suites, public areas and offices as assigned.


• Cleans windows and spot washes walls per routine task checklist.


• Removes trash from suites, public areas, offices and ensures disposal is in accordance with company protocol.


• Shampoos carpeted areas as requested.


• Washes resident bathmats as required.


• Cleans and polishes fireplace glass.


• Cleans inside and outside of washers/dryers, empties lint traps at least daily.


• Uses duty checklist daily and returns to Supervisor for review.


• Operates housekeeping equipment and implements as required.

What You Will Need

• High school diploma is preferred.


• WHIMIS training is an asset.


• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.


• Previous experience in a Healthcare or Retirement setting is preferred.


• Experience with industrial vacuum, scrubber, floor polisher and other related equipment is preferred.
