Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) provides a full range of general and specialized acute care services, including emergency and critical care, general medicine, surgery, maternity, pediatrics, neurology, neurosurgery, cardiology, orthopedics, psychiatry, palliative care, chemotherapy, diagnostics, nuclear medicine, and rehabilitative services. As a recognized trauma centre, LGH has 268 inpatient beds, eight operating rooms, and various diagnostic services, serving a large population in rural and urban areas including North Shore, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Mount Currie, Sunshine Coast, and Powell River.
LGH is seeking qualified Locum Hospitalists to provide MRP medical services to acute care medical patients, geriatrics, and neurological, neurosurgical, and orthopedic patient populations, with consultant support. Successful applicants will join the Division of Hospitalists within the Department of Medicine and participate in an on-call rotation, approximately once per week. Candidates should have a strong interest in developing their acute care hospitalist practice within the LGH hospitalist group.
Qualifications include substantial Hospitalist experience caring for a diverse patient population in a busy community hospital, high professional standards, and strong clinical skills. The role emphasizes quality improvement, system enhancements, teaching, infection control, and antibiotic stewardship. The team fosters a positive, collaborative work culture.

- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) - Mandatory
- CCFP – Emergency Medicine – Mandatory
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Eligible
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Mandatory
- Emergency Experience - Mandatory
