Job summary

The North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to dispense and compound medications under the supervision of a Pharmacist, while contributing to the distribution of Pharmacy Services in a hospital setting.

Applicants should have a Pharmacy Technician credential, 3+ years IV rotation experience, and familiarity with Meditech or hospital automation. Bilingual English/French proficiency is required. CUPE 139 terms apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists).
• Minimum 3 years IV rotation experience in a hospital setting.
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy and hospital pharmacy automated technologies are assets.
• Knowledge and experience with Meditech an asset.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and compound drugs as delegated by a Pharmacist.
• Oversee the distribution component of Pharmacy Services.
• Commit to safety and preventing adverse health events for patients, staff and visitors.

Education

Pharmacy Technician course or equivalent

Certified Pharmacy Technician (Ontario College of Pharmacists)

IV rotation experience in hospital (3+ years)

Meditech knowledge/experience (asset)

Microsoft Word (computer skills)
