Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Calgary is seeking a Food Service I to provide nutritious meal service to patients, residents, staff, visitors, and the community. You will work under supervision to prepare, portion and deliver meals, and help with stocking and sanitation in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This Regular Full Time position at South Health Campus offers evening and weekend shifts with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to lift food, supplies and equipment up to 46lbs and push/pull meal carts up to 250lbs.
• Walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills to measure portions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, handle, portion and package food and beverages.
• Assemble trays in the kitchen and/or serve meals in a dining room setting.
• Provide patient meal delivery and pick up.
• Order and put away unit supplies.
• Safely operate and clean industrial food service equipment.
• Adhere to safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards.
