Job summary

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a Food Service Worker for Nutrition and Food Services at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. You will assist in patient dining, prepare meals, and maintain sanitation while supporting safe food handling and service excellence.

This casual relief role reports to the NFS Manager and offers variety across patient and retail settings. The position requires Grade 12 or equivalent and may benefit from restaurant or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent asset.
• Restaurant experience is considered an asset.
• Customer Service skills are considered an asset.
• Ability to work as part of a team to meet goals.
• Effective communication with civility and respect.
• French language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, portion, and serve patient and visitor meals.
• Portion nourishments and beverages and prepare items.
• Prepare salad and sandwich items.
• Deliver and distribute meals and nourishments to patients.
• Receive, store, and inventory supplies using FIFO.
• Handle and interpret patient diet orders and requirements.
• Maintain safe food handling, sanitation, and hygiene.
