Job summary

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a Cook I for High River Hospital. This casual position involves preparing meals, assisting with inventory, and supporting the Nutrition and Food Services team to ensure patient-focused, high-quality food service.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to a positive patient experience while working a flexible shift pattern (days, evenings, weekends) in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Physically capable to lift up to 46 lbs and push/pull carts up to 250 lbs.
• Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills for receiving work instructions.
• Good English reading/writing for instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality food following recipes and AHS policies.
• Assist and/or manage inventory and ordering of supplies.
• Safely operate and clean food service equipment.
• Comply with AHS safety and sanitation policies.
• Provide mentorship within the department as required.
• Support NFS staff during meal preparation, plating, and assembly.
