Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Food Service I to perform routine food preparation, packaging, portioning, and service for Long Term Care residents at the High Prairie Health Complex. This casual/relief role includes delivering meals, cleaning, and operating food service equipment in a patient-focused environment.

The position requires basic computer skills, a Food Safe Handling Certificate within three months, and the ability to lift up to 46 lbs.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent
• Physically capable to lift up to 46 lbs and push/pull meal carts up to 250 lbs
• Walk and stand on your feet for the duration of your shift
• Food Safe Handling Certificate required within three months

Responsibilities

• Perform routine food preparation in accordance with AHS standards
• Package and portion food items
• Serve meals to patients and customers and clean/sanitize equipment and areas
• Operate and maintain industrial food service equipment and stock inventory
