Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services II cleaner/housekeeper trained to work in healthcare settings. You will clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas and public spaces according to AHS standards, with training provided and shifts that may include days, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies, linen handling, and operating cleaning equipment. You may report hazards and assist with staff orientation as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of computers/smartphones.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, clinical areas and public spaces.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors; restock bathroom supplies.
• Strip linen and make beds; operating cleaning equipment.
• Wash ceilings and windows; empty hazardous waste.
• Report hazards to supervisor; assist in training staff.
