Zusammenfassung

Mariposa House Hospice seeks a Music Therapist to provide compassionate, evidence-based music therapy to clients and their families across home visits, community hospice, and residential hospice settings. You will design treatment plans, deliver one-on-one and small-group sessions, and support bereavement journeys according to assessed needs.

The role emphasizes collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining thorough progress notes.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor or Master of Music Therapy from an accredited university.
• Certified through the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (current or in progress).
• Proficiency with at least one musical instrument and voice.
• Experience facilitating groups.
• Comfortable discussing end-of-life topics with clients and families.
• Clear professional English communication; strong listening skills.

Aufgaben

• Provide music therapy one-on-one and in group settings in homes and hospices.
• Support clients with life-limiting illness, and assist caregivers and bereaved individuals.
• Assess client needs and determine suitability of music therapy.
• Develop and implement individualized or group treatment plans with goals.
• Carry out sessions using music-based interventions and document progress.
• Develop an 8-week bereavement music therapy support group.
