Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide in-home support and emergency response services in the Greater Toronto Area. The role requires a PSW certification, current CPR/First Aid, and the ability to communicate in English and Chinese.

Candidates should be prepared to work shift patterns and travel within the region. You will join a large not-for-profit seniors care organization that prioritizes client-centred care, teamwork, and ongoing development

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved PSW course in Ontario or equivalent.
• Current CPR & First Aid Certificate required.
• Registration with HSCPOA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home support and emergency response services in home care and assisted living environments.
• Deliver client-centred care with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain independence while collaborating with team as needed.

Provides in-home support and emergency response services to clients in the home support and assisted living environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved and recognized Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
• Current CPR & First Aid Certificate
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Client-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player
• Computer literacy (MS Office).
• Basic knowledge of Alayacare, Workday an asset.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
• Ability to communicate in English and Chinese

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending.
• Exposure to all client care elements through regular client contact.

Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends

Regular travel within the Greater Toronto and Mississauga area

Use of own vehicle

Salary Range: $20.70 - $24.35
