Job summary

Phasor Engineering seeks an experienced High Voltage Field Commissioning Lead to direct testing and energization of MV/HV systems and protection & control schemes at various project sites across Canada. You will lead field crews, interpret drawings, and troubleshoot issues to ensure safe, reliable startup.

The role requires hands-on relay testing, substations experience, strong leadership, and willingness to travel on extended rotations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or Power Systems Electrician Journeyman certification.
  • 4+ years of commissioning leadership experience within utility or MV/HV environments.
  • Hands-on relay testing and commissioning experience.
  • Experience with substations, protection & control systems, and utility infrastructure.
  • Experience with Omicron testing equipment is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work extended rotations and travel to project sites as required.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced High Voltage Field Commissioning Lead to join our team.

In this role, you will lead the testing and commissioning of MV/HV systems, protection & control schemes, and critical electrical infrastructure from construction through energization.

This is a field-based position with travel to project sites across Canada on a 14/7 rotation.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or Power Systems Electrician Journeyman certification
  • 4+ years of commissioning leadership experience within utility or MV/HV environments
  • Hands-on relay testing and commissioning experience
  • Experience working with substations, protection & control systems, and utility infrastructure
  • Experience with Omicron testing equipment is considered a strong asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work extended rotations and travel to project sites as required

Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada. Background checks and Drug & Alcohol testing will be required as part of employment, and must have a valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.

Expected annual earnings: $175,000–$245,000, inclusive of base salary and overtime (actual earnings may vary based on experience and project requirements.)
