A leading engineering firm is seeking a High Voltage Cable Engineer for a role that involves designing and installing high voltage cables, with responsibilities including feasibility studies and preparation of design specifications. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-7 years of relevant experience. This position is based in Calgary, Alberta, with opportunities for remote work as well.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in engineering high voltage cables.
• Experience in designing and testing AC/DC submarine and land cables.
• Familiarity with international cable standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform feasibility studies and preliminary cable design calculations.
• Prepare installation design drawings and cable specifications.
• Review and evaluate bid documents for cable projects.

Skills

Specification and design of high voltage cables

Knowledge of submarine cable protection techniques

Familiar with cable installation techniques

Knowledge of cable monitoring systems

Cable fault locating and repair operations

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
