Job description

High School Math & Science Tutor/Teacher Grades 9-12

Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience. Oxford Learning Burlington North is seeking EXCEPTIONAL teachers/tutors for our students. An ideal candidate for this position will possess a passion for education and teaching, attention to detail, availability at least 2 evenings/week, and experience teaching or tutoring children/teens.

This is a FANTASTIC job for anyone who is passionate about math and science, and helping students learn. Applicants will be fully trained on our proprietary philosophy and methods.

*THIS IS AN IN-PERSON POSITION AND YOU WILL BE REPORTING TO OUR BURLINGTON NORTH CENTRE*

A stellar candidate for this position will possess the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or third/fourth-year university students with tutoring or TA experience in a relevant field
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Fluent English language (written and oral communication skills)
  • Confident with teaching senior high school math and science particularly finance and/or physics but still looking for all math and science subjects.

Teaching Requirements:

  • Must be available 2-3 evenings/week for 3-4 hours/shift. Our classes run from 3pm - 8pm Monday - Thursday and 9am - 12pm on Saturday. Shifts begin at 3pm, 4pm or 5pm on weekdays.
  • Must be willing to commit until the end of the school year June 2025
  • Must be available for in-person teaching

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $19 - $21 / hour

Schedule:

  • Evenings Monday to Thursday
  • Expected hours: 8 – 20 per week
  • Weekends as needed
