Job summary

Oxford Learning Bayview Woods is seeking a part-time Teacher-Tutor to support high school math and science students in North York. You’ll work evenings, Saturdays, and occasional after-school sessions, in-person at our centre.

Lessons are pre-planned; you’ll be trained in our proprietary methods and will help students master functions, algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry and biology while building their confidence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Final year university students with tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Strong knowledge of Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teach online and in-person
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies
• Fill in post-lesson notes
• Complete daily student communication updates
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner

Skills

Strong English communication

Strong maths skills

Multitasking (up to 3 students)

Experience tutoring Grade 9-12 maths &

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Final-year university student with tutoring experience

Teaching certification an asset

Knowledge of Grades 9-12 math/science curriculum
