Job summary

Oxford Learning Richmond Hill – Oak Ridges is seeking part-time tutors to work at our learning centre during after-school and evening hours. Ideal candidates love calculus and science and can guide high-school students in math, physics, chemistry and biology.

The role is in-person, with after-school and some Saturday shifts; commute is required. Competitive pay: $18.50–$20 per hour, with opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

  • University students with strong Grades 11–12 math knowledge (Advanced Functions, algebra, calculus).
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring Grades 11–12 math.
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; multitasking with up to three students.

Responsibilities

  • Help high-school students with their math schoolwork
  • Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post-lesson notes
  • Complete daily student communication updates

Job description

High School Math & Science Tutor Wanted

Love Calculus and science? Eager to help high‑school students succeed in math, physics, chemistry and biology? Oxford Learning Richmond Hill – Oak Ridges is seeking part‑time tutors to work at our learning centre during after‑school and evening hours.

Position Requirements

All tutors work during after‑school and evening hours: Monday – Friday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with some Saturdays 10:30 am – 2:30 pm. This role is in‑person; you must be able to commute to the location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory. No relocation package is available.

Education
  • University students with excellent knowledge of the current Grades 11‑12 math curriculum (Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, Calculus, vectors, etc.)
  • Teaching certification is an asset
Experience
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring math at Grades 11‑12
  • Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
