Job summary

Oxford Learning Clayton Heights in Surrey, BC is seeking a part-time High School Math/Science Teacher-Tutor to work after school, teaching up to three students at a time in-person at our Clayton Heights centre.

Applicants should be reliable, comfortable with 3-student groups, and familiar with the BC curriculum for Grades 8–12, including Pre-Calc 11/12, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Position runs Mon–Thu 3:00pm–8:00pm through June with potential summer continuation.

Qualifications

• University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Knowledge of Grades 8-12 math and science, including Pre Calc 11/12, Foundations 11/12, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Provide homework support aligned with BC curriculum.
• Teach in person at the centre.
• Complete post-lesson notes and daily student updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Oxford Learning Clayton Heights

Oxford Learning Clayton Heights is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.

Position Requirements

The Centre is open Monday through Friday during after-school and evening hours (3:00pm - 8:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 8-12 math and science curriculum, particularly Pre Calc 11 and 12/Foundations 11 and 12, Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

Experience

• Experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 8 to 12 level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
