Job summary

Multimatic-In in Newmarket, Ontario, is seeking an Automotive Prep Technician to meticulously prep carbon fibre and fiberglass bodywork and apply world-class primer and finishes.

The role requires hands-on painting, colour matching, and painting two- or three-tone graphics across panels, with strong safety practices and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Training is provided, and prior auto body finishing experience is preferred in a collaborative, performance-focused shop.

Qualifications

• Experience in auto body finishing and repair.
• Experience with spot repair using airbrush or spray gun.
• Experience in colour matching.
• Experience painting two or three tone graphics across panels.
• Ability to interpret basic work instructions and follow mix ratios.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality output.
• Understanding of composite component construction is an asset.
• Manufacturing environments experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings to composite components using various spray methods.
• Prepare components for coatings using various preparation methods.
• Spot repair components using spray methods.
• Mask appropriate areas and maintain shop tools and equipment.
• Mix, spray and verify coatings to match specifications.
• Inspect components during processing and follow quality controls.
