Job summary

gategroup in Canada is seeking a Driver to handle load/off-load of catering materials for flight schedules, ensuring safety and security in line with company rules.

You will perform pre-trip checks, drive high-loader catering vehicle, load aircraft according to labels and galley positions, and coordinate with the Transport Dispatcher while complying with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English, written and spoken.
• Previous experience in a similar driver/load-off role preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete load/off-load of catering materials with secure load and coordination with departments.
• Perform pre-trip truck checks and drive high-loader catering vehicle.
• Load/unload aircraft per flight schedules and labels, following health and safety requirements.
• Liaise with Transport Dispatcher for injuries, shortages, or irregular operations.
• Comply with all regulations and company rules.

We’re looking for motivated, engaged people to help make everyone’s journeys better. Reporting into the Supervisor (Team Leader Air Side Team) the Driver is responsible for the correct load/off-load of the vehicles according to flight schedules, loading lists, health, safety and customer requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Completes the gathering and fault free timely load / off-load of catering material, assuring complete load security, coordinating with all necessary departments and duty manager.
2. Completes the pre-trip truck checks, ensuring cleanliness and assumes responsibility for the driving of high-loader catering vehicle.
3. Loads and unloads aircraft in accordance with flight schedules, loading lists / labels and stowages in the correct galley positions and health and safety / customer requirements.
4. Liaises with the Transport Dispatcher in the case of injuries and accidents, absence of material, or any other irregular operations or block outs.
5. Compliance with the regulations (Materials / Security / Country / Safety / SQOR / Company Rules and Procedures).

Qualifications Education/Technical Skills

Minimum high school diploma is required. Minimum Class 5 driver's license is required CDL driver's license a strong asset Clean driving record RAIC a strong asset

Work Experience

• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment

Environmental Requirements and Working Conditions
