Job summary

Ferns Group in Essex is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our fleet team. You will oversee routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and perform repairs to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. A strong mechanical background and excellent customer service are essential.

The ideal candidate has 3 years in transport maintenance or a commercial workshop, NVQ Level 3 in HGV service and maintenance (preferred), and IRTEC is advantageous. Overtime available.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in vehicle maintenance and repair management.
• 3 years’ experience in transport maintenance or a commercial workshop.
• NVQ Level 3 in HGV service and maintenance is preferred.
• IRTEC qualification would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair fleet vehicles to meet HGV and safety legislation.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify safety issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify vehicle issues and determine repairs.
• Document maintenance, parts used and time spent on each job.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
