Job summary

FedEx in Barrie, Ontario is seeking an interview-position maintenance technician to provide timely and cost-effective maintenance for the Federal Express vehicle fleet and ground support equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and documentation, using a wide range of diagnostic tools and software.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, an automotive technician certification, a valid G license, and at least three years of fleet experience.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Coach Technician certification/license is required
• Must possess a valid G license and maintain a clean driving record
• Three (3) years of fleet experience is required
• Fleet maintenance experience is an asset
• Electronic troubleshooting skills are essential
• Must be able to operate automotive diagnostic testing equipment and tools for gas, diesel and hydraulic systems
• Must have basic welding knowledge and safety procedures
• Able to lift heavy vehicle components up to 70 lbs
• Able to lift above 70 lbs with mechanical assistance
• Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Word basic proficiency preferred
• Diagnostic software experience listed in tools above
• Ramp positions require background checks per Transport Canada/RCMP/CSIS with 5 years verifiable history
• Own a complete set of automotive/truck hand tools with storage cabinets

Responsibilities

• Perform timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair, modify and document maintenance actions
• Utilize diagnostic software and testing tools to identify issues across gasoline, diesel and hydraulic systems
• Ensure compliance with safety and company policies during maintenance activities
