Position Summary

Position Title: HET Mechanic

Location: 135 High Plains Drive Rocky View County

Duration: Full-time Position

Schedule 1: Wednesday - Saturday (7:00am-5:30pm) 4x10 Hour Shifts

Schedule 2: Monday - Thursday (2:00pm-12:30am) 4x10 Hour shifts

Description

The Licensed HET/Truck Mechanic is responsible for servicing and maintaining company equipment by using standard "Best Practices" and providing guidance to apprentices. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and performing preventive maintenance to keep our fleet in optimal condition. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the maintenance team, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of our trucking services.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and repairs.
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Work towards meeting industry standard repair times for assigned repairs.
  • Stay current with new technologies through training.
  • Maintain shop work areas to meet health and safety standards.
  • Communicate issues or concerns to managers as needed.
  • Work occasionally on weekends.
Requirements
  • Licensed mechanic with CVIP and sound knowledge of shop practices.
  • Own tools required.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems, working with SRT.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to meet and surpass company standards.
  • Proficient in using a computer for managing electronic punch times and payroll.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Exposure to exhaust gases, vibrations, chemicals, and shop noise.
  • Ability to perform heavy work, such as removing tractor wheel assemblies (120 lbs).
