Job summary

Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in is seeking a Gift Shop Supervisor & Heritage Programmer to join the Heritage Department in Dawson City, Yukon. This permanent role combines guest services with cultural programming to educate visitors and empower citizens.

You will deliver heritage programs, host site visits, manage retail operations including a Square POS, and ensure a welcoming environment that honors Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in culture and language while promoting pride and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent experience.
• Experience in public speaking and customer service.
• Knowledge and experience in traditional / contemporary life ways and values of Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in.
• Passion for history, culture, traditions, language and service is essential.
• Good oral, written, research and communication skills.
• Experience providing customer service in a retail or similar operation, cashier skills, basic office skills.
• Experience operating a point-of-sale cash and inventory system especially Square Builder.
• Ability to take on projects, problem solve and multi-task.
