Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in is seeking an After School Early Childhood Educator (Term Part-time) in Dawson City, YT. The role involves supervising children aged six to twelve, including kindergartners, after school and during school closures, under the guidance of Tr’inkè Zho Supervisor.

The position requires an ECE certificate/diploma and experience with First Nation families, plus knowledge of YG regulations. You will work within a dynamic team and participate in staff meetings and relevant courses.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in an Early Childhood setting or related environment.
  • Certificate and/or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Experience or knowledge in working with First Nation children and families
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood development theory, principles and practices
  • Knowledge of YG Child Care regulations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with families
  • Energy and ability to fit in with a dynamic team working under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children ages six to twelve years old, including Kindergartners, after school and during school closures.
  • Carry out the section program to meet the individual needs of the children and ensure YG regulations are followed.
  • Work in direct partnership with other After School Early Childhood Educators.
