Job summary

Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. is seeking a qualified HEO - ROCK TRUCK (40 Ton) for project-based work across Saskatchewan. The role involves 12-hour shifts (days/nights) with rotation, plus lodging and travel arrangements where applicable.

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience operating 40 Ton ROCK Trucks on civil or mining sites, valid driver’s license, and required safety tickets. This position is project-based and may move to other projects as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of recent experience operating 40 Ton ROCK Truck on heavy civil earthworks, construction, road building or mining project sites.
  • Pre-employment screenings include Alcohol and Drug Screening and Fitness-to-Work Assessment.
  • Valid Driver’s License and CSA Approved safety boots.

Responsibilities

  • Haul and transport materials within site using 40 Ton Rock Truck.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and safety checks (tires, fluids, brakes).
  • Adhere to project specifications and safety procedures to maintain quality and safety.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Operate 2‑way radio and assist with other labour duties as required.

We are currently accepting applications to support multiple projects with our clients in Saskatchewan.

Rotation: Project dependent, most commonly 14/7

Shift: 12 Hours (Days and Nights)

Travel: Project Dependent – Flights via approved travel hubs (where applicable) or Drive in / Drive out

Lodging: Accommodations provided

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
  • Successful completion of comprehensive Fitness-to-Work Assessment. This assessment is job‑related, focusing on the physical demands and safety‑sensitive nature of the work, and is conducted in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and the Alberta Human Rights Act. The assessment will cover
    • Health History Review – a thorough examination of the candidate’s health background.
    • Pre‑Medical Evaluation – measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
    • Musculoskeletal Examination – a head‑to‑toe assessment to identify any limitations or concerns related to physical health.
    • Critical Strength and Mobility Test – a series of tasks assessing lifting, carrying, and positional abilities aligned with the job’s physical demands (up to 50 lbs).
  • Worker to provide
    • Valid Safety Training tickets
      • CSO / BSO / CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional
      • Intermediate First Aid with CPR & AED
      • H2S Alive
      • Bear Awareness (In‑Class)
      • Ground Disturbance (HEO)
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • CSA Approved safety boots – minimum 6" high & fully laceable.
All Morgan Field Based Workers and Equipment Operators must
  • Be physically conditioned to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
  • Work a rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day, for both day or night shifts as required and subject to change depending on project needs.
  • Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
  • Be prepared for and willing to perform additional labour duties as / when required.
  • Embrace the elements by working outdoors in all weather conditions. Whether it's rain, shine, or snow, you'll need to thrive in diverse weather environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Haul/Transport, dump materials to designated locations within a worksite while operating in a smooth and safe manner.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, meticulously examining tires, fluids, lights and brakes to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
  • Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies by demonstrating a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel. Perform JSA and FLHA’s as required.
  • Demonstrate exceptional judgement and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrating versatility in collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
  • Operate 2‑way radio
  • Shovel out equipment tracks.
  • Perform labour duties as / when required.
  • Assist ground personnel as / when required.
  • Other duties as / when assigned.
Experience / Qualification Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience operating various sizes – 40 Ton ROCK Truck on heavy civil earthworks, construction, road building or mining project sites is required.

Project‑Based Construction Role

  • This position is tied to a specific project and its duration, concluding upon completion of the project or the incumbent’s role within it. As Morgan maintains ongoing projects, there is a possibility of placement on another project where a suitable opportunity exists; however, continued or future employment is not guaranteed.
