Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Hemodialysis unit. You will provide quality, patient-centred care and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe nephrology nursing.

The role requires recent acute care experience and hemodialysis knowledge. Responsibilities include assessments, planning, interventions, and discharge education, with a focus on infection control and inter-professional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Minimum of two years in an acute care setting within the last five years
• Minimum of one year hemodialysis experience
• Nephrology-specific certifications or enrollment as required by the role
• Knowledge of nephrology nursing standards and related procedures
• Prior to interview, 80% score on a nephrology quiz is required

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centred care across the nursing process
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and observation procedures
• Deliver professional, compassionate care promoting safety and well-being
• Support diversity and inclusive practices in patient care
• Apply infection control measures and safety standards
• Recognize and respond to emergencies with appropriate escalation
• Educate patients and families with thorough discharge instructions
