Job summary

The Sutherland Group is seeking a Class 1 Lowbed Driver to safely transport heavy equipment across the Kootenays and surrounding regions. You will operate lowbed trucks and trailers, haul oversize loads, obtain permits, and ensure compliance with provincial regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence.
• Experience operating lowbed trailers.
• Experience hauling oversize/overweight loads.
• Strong understanding of provincial over-dimensional regulations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate lowbed truck and trailer hauling heavy equipment.
• Transport oversize and overweight loads in compliance with provincial regulations.
• Plan routes and ensure proper permitting for over-dimensional loads.
• Safely load and secure equipment for transport.
• Assist with loading/unloading equipment where required.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safety and equipment compliance.
• Maintain accurate electronic logs and trip data using ISAAC system.
