Job summary

Canada Cartage Group is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician (Journeyman) to service and maintain our fleet at Rocky View County, Alberta. The role requires diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance following best practices. You’ll join a team focused on minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet efficiency.

Role is full-time with schedule: Mon-Thu, 2:00pm–12:30am. Must be a licensed mechanic with CVIP, own tools, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Licensed mechanic with CVIP and knowledge of shop practices.
• Must have own tools.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections and repairs.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Work towards meeting industry standard repair times for assigned repairs.
• Train on and stay current with new technologies.
• Maintain work areas of shop to meet health and safety standards.
• Communicate issues to managers as needed.
• Occasionally work on weekends.

PositionSummary

Position Title:Heavy Equipment Technician (Journeyman) – $46/Hr + Shift Premiums

Location: 135High Plains Drive Rocky View County, T4A 3N8

Duration: Full-time Position

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 2:00pm-12:30am

Description:

The Licensed HET/ Truck Mechanic is responsible for servicing and maintaining company equipment by using standard "Best Practices" and providing guidance to apprentices. Responsibilities will encompass diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and performing preventive maintanance tasks to keep our fleet in optimal condition. Additonally, will collaborate with the maintance team, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of our trucking services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintaince Inspections and repairs.
• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Work towards meeting industry standard repair times for assigned repairs.
• Train on and stay current with new technologies.
• Maintain work areas of shop to meet health and safety standards.
• Communicate issue/concerns to managers as needed.
• Will be required to work occasionally on weekends

Requirements:

• Licensedmechanic with CVIP and sound knowledge of shop practices.
• Must have own tools.
• Abilityto diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems while working with SRT
• Self-motivated with a desire to meet and surpass company standards.
• Ability to use a computer to manage electronic punch times and payroll.
• Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
• Exposed to exhaust gases vibrations, chemicals and shop noise.
• Ability to perform heavy work such as removing tractor wheel assemblies (120lbs) .
