Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Surrey Construction and Forestry location. The role focuses on repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and attachments, ensuring reliable operation for customers.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, disassembling, parts ordering, and documenting work entries, while maintaining safety and quality standards. Experience with heavy equipment and Journeyperson certification are preferred priorities.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, teammates, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds) and endure prolonged standing
• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent is preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the condition of heavy duty equipment and diagnose faults
• Disassemble/reassemble, order parts, and perform repair work
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems for service tasks
• Document all machine information, actions taken, and time on work orders
• Assess service hazards and ensure work is performed safely to standards
• Utilize John Deere Service Advisor and parts catalogs to document maintenance and order parts
• Road test equipment and verify attachment operation as needed

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Surrey Construction and Forestry location.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
