Job summary

Custom Truck One Source Calgary is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic with Alberta Journeyman or Red Seal certification to service truck-mounted hydraulic equipment. Experience with heavy trucks and hydraulics is valued. The role is full-time, day shifts, with overtime as needed.

You will inspect, diagnose, repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components, maintain accurate records, and participate in safety meetings. Valid Class 1 or 3 license and tools required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician - Off Road and/or On Road is desired.
• Experience with heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic equipment is a strong asset.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must have your own tools.
• High School Diploma, provincially approved High School Equivalency, or GED.
• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on trucks & equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks with hydraulics and electrical knowledge.
• Maintain records of parts, services and labor for proper pricing.
• Submit work orders for approval to control costs and budgets.
• Perform duties safely and attend monthly safety meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Heavy Duty Mechanic - Journeyman

Full Time Non-Exempt [Hourly] Technical Calgary, AB, CA

The CTOS Calgary branch specializes in truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment, including aerial bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and hi-rail trucks.

We are seeking a skilled technician with a valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate or Red Seal certification in Heavy Equipment, Heavy Duty Equipment, Truck & Transport, or a related trade. Experience with heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic equipment is a strong asset.

Experience with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes; or related equipment, construction, mining, farm equipment is desired.

• Perform CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program)
• Monday - Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (overtime as needed)
• Must hold a valid driver’s (Class 1 or 3 a plus)

Job Duties:

• Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
• Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
• Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Skills:

• High School Diploma, provincially approved High School Equivalency, or GED
• Journeyman or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician - Off Road and/or On Road is desired.
