Job summary

Brandt is Seeking a Service Technician at our Stoney Creek Construction & Forestry location to repair and maintain heavy equipment in a shop setting.

The role involves diagnosing, assembling/disassembling machines, and ordering parts; multiple shifts are available to meet workload demands.

Preferred candidates hold Journeyperson status in heavy equipment, with electrical diagnostic skills and a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment (preferred).
  • Journeyperson in Heavy Duty Equipment trade or equivalent designation (preferred).
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems (asset).
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and repair heavy-duty equipment.
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, and computer systems safely and efficiently.
  • Document all machine information, actions taken, and time on work orders.
  • Assess hazards and ensure work is performed safely to accepted standards.
  • Use parts catalogues and JD Service Advisor to locate and order parts.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Service Technician for our Stoney Creek Construction & Forestry location with multiple shifts available.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry-based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy-duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment considered an asset
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis /troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems considered an asset
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
