Qualifications

• Proven experience operating heavy equipment in construction, mining, or earthworks.
• Valid heavy equipment operation or commercial driver’s license as required by local regs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, graders) to dig, level, and transport material.
• Perform pre-operational checks and maintain/clean equipment.
• Read blueprints and site plans to meet project specs.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE as required.
• Coordinate with the team using radio or other tools for safe operations.
• Report faults promptly to maintenance.
• Maintain logs (hours, fuel, usage).
• Assist with routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Follow environmental regulations and company policies for materials handling.

Job description

Location: Timmins, ON (Sault Ste. Marie)

Caron Equipment is a growing company, and we are looking for experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team for our local projects.

We are seeking skilled and dependable operators with a minimum of three (3) years of heavy equipment operating experience in construction, mining, earthworks, or similar environments.

The successful candidates will safely and efficiently operate various types of heavy construction and earth moving equipment while contributing to the successful completion of our projects.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and graders to perform tasks such as digging, spreading and levelling earth, and material transportation.
• Conduct per-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as necessary.
• Understand and follow blueprints and site plans to meet project specifications.
• Comply with all safety policies and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Communicate with other construction team members using radio or other communication tools to ensure safe and effective coordination of operations.
• Report any faults or irregularities in equipment performance promptly to the maintenance team.
• Maintain accurate logs or records as required (e.g., usage hours, fuel consumption).
• Assist with routine maintenance and emergency repairs of the equipment.
• Adhere to environmental regulations and company policies regarding the handling and disposal of materials.
