Job summary

Bouchier is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for highway maintenance in the Fort McKay area. This seasonal position at Suncor EAH follows a 14 on/14 off rotation, with camp accommodations and regional flights available.

The role requires operating various heavy equipment safely and may include labourer duties as needed. The successful candidate will have highway maintenance experience, a valid Class 3/1 license, CSO and WHMIS 2015 certifications, and the ability to work in all weather

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of heavy equipment GPS operating experience.
• Highway maintenance experience.
• Valid Class 3 and Class 1 licenses.
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certification is required.
• WHMIS 2015 certification is required (within last 3 years).
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol and Fit for Duty tests.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate all assigned heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Read, countersign and enter comments into the daily operator logbook.
• Complete pre-operational checks on equipment.
• Grease and service equipment as needed and ensure safety equipment is in place.
• Maintain interior cleanliness and report repairs to maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with customers and coworkers and participate in safety meetings.

Position: Heavy Equipment Operator - Highway Maintenance

Schedule: 14 on/14 off Rotation (Compressed Work Schedule)

Role Summary:

This position reports directly to the Site Manager and is expected to operate assigned equipment in a safe and effective manner. Due to the nature of our work, Operators may be required to perform Labourer duties from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Must be experience in operating all pieces of heavy equipment.
• Operate all assigned equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Read, countersign and enter comments into daily operator logbook.
• Complete and document a pre-operational check on assigned equipment.
• Grease equipment as necessary.
• Ensure all equipment has proper safety equipment in place.
• Keep interior clean.
• Any required repairs to assigned equipment are communicated to maintenance personnel.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees.
• Participate in Job Hazard Assessments, Feld Level Risk Assessments and line-up meetings.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Site Superintendent.

Education & Experience:

• 2-5 Years' Heavy Equipment GPS operating system experience
• Highway Maintenance experience
• Valid Class 3, Class 1
• Ability to lift and pull up to 50lbs
• Ability to work in all weather
• Ability to work shift work
• Safety conscious attitude
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certification is required
• WHMIS 2015 certification is required (completed within the last 3 years)
• Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol and a Fit for Duty Test
• All applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in English
