Job summary

Leduc County is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support the maintenance of county roads and municipal infrastructure. The role reports to the Foreman- West and operates trucks, graders, loaders and other heavy equipment to keep our roads safe and functional.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Three years of trucking experience or tandem axle plow/sand truck or other heavy equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as tandem trucks with snowplow and wing attachments, graders, excavators, and front-end loaders, performing various road maintenance functions in the summer and snow and ice removal in the winter months.
• Services and performs minor maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Logs hours and complies with the Traffic Safety Act.
• Hauls and unloads various types of materials, gravel, earth, asphalt, water, and road equipment in designated areas for maintenance and construction as required.
• Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
• Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
• Performs related duties as required.
