Job summary

Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is recruiting an Equipment Operator for civil infrastructure maintenance in Innisfail, Alberta. The role reports to the Foreman and involves winter operations, traffic control, and routine road upkeep.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, a Class 3 or 1 driver's license with air brake endorsement, and experience with equipment operation and heavy physical labour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class 3 or 1 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and a clean abstract.
• Experience operating highway maintenance equipment or snow removal equipment is an asset.
• Knowledge of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations.
• Ability to work shifts, call-outs, weekends, and overtime.
• Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Capable of heavy physical labour.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Snow removal and winter operations.
• Traffic control, emergency responses, highway surface maintenance, and right-of-way maintenance.
• Roadside turnout maintenance and bridge/road maintenance tasks.
• Equipment and vehicle maintenance and servicing.
• Investigation and recording of equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Attend incidents/accidents to ensure public safety.

Mainroad Alberta Contracting LP is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join our expanding team! In this position, you will play a vital role in civil infrastructure maintenance. This position is based out ofInnisfail, Alberta, and will report to the Foreman.

This role involves a range of job duties, which include, but are not limited to:

• Snow removal and winter operations.


• Traffic control, emergency responses, highway surface maintenance, right-of-way maintenance, highway patrolling, shoulder maintenance/grading, plowing, sanding/salting, drainage maintenance.


• Roadside turnout maintenance, garbage pick up, bridge washing and maintenance.


• Highway Patrol and emergency response, grading and dust control on gravel roads.


• Re-gravelling, mowing of vegetation, road surface maintenance, roadside barrier maintenance and repairs.


• Pavement marking, sign installation and repairs.


• Maintenance of equipment and vehicles, ensuring they are properly serviced and equipped.


• Investigation and recording of equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.


• Ensuring all materials and tools are properly secured.


• Attending incidents/accidents to ensure public safety.
