Suncor Energy Inc. Fort Hills site in Alberta's Athabasca region seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to run ultra-class mining gear and ensure safe, efficient daily production targets.

This is a fly-in/fly-out camp-based role with seven days on, seven days off and 12-hour shifts. Camp options include Calgary or Edmonton hubs for travel, with strong safety and teamwork emphasis.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience operating large mining equipment such as shovels, excavators, dozers, graders or haul trucks.
• High School Diploma or GED or 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for 2 years.
• Proven safety mindset and ability to stay focused on long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate haul trucks, shovels, backhoes, dozers and graders following operating standards.
• Complete safety checks, walkarounds and risk assessments; report issues promptly.
• Train and mentor others; participate in continuous improvement programs.
• Report repairs to maintenance and document incidents or near misses.
